CHCIAGO (WLS) -- TSA officials say a 62-year-old man was arrested at Chicago Midway International Airport Thursday night when a gun was found in his carry-on luggage.
TSA officers found a .380 caliber Lorcin Arms firearm in the man's carry-on luggage during security screening. Upon discovery, TSA immediately notified local law enforcement, who responded and arrested the man on local charges.
According to a spokesperson from the TSA's Office of Public Affairs, this is the fifth weapon discovered in carry-on luggage at Chicago Midway in 2014.
Weapons and explosives are prohibited in airports and on planes, including firearms, firearm parts and ammunition, in carry-on bags. Firearms can be transported in checked luggage if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline.
