Believe it or not, even if you fit the bill, you wouldn't be alone.

A 28-year-old Canadian named Jordan Axani planned a trip around the world for his then-girlfriend to take place this December. After the two broke up, Axani decided he still wanted to take the trip, but hated that the other ticket would go to waste. That's when he thought of a convoluted idea to make use of the ticket.

Axani is seeking someone with a Canadian passport named Elizabeth Gallagher. He hopes the airlines will allow this strikingly similar person to take the original Elizabeth's trip.

And believe it or not, Axani's internet and media attention has paid off. He has plenty of takers.

"Since putting my long-shot request out there, I have received thousands of emails from people around the world," Axani said in an email. "Among those, I have received dozens of emails from Elizabeths who are Canadian."

Axani originally hoped to find someone--anyone--who would be able to use the ticket, and now he's fielding requests from Elizabeth Gallaghers left and right. Though he hasn't said what will be the deciding factor in his final decision, he's made it clear that he doesn't want a replacement girlfriend or even a replacement travel companion, just a replacement Elizabeth.

The media frenzy started when Axani posted the request on reddit, tweeting out his wish that his post would garner some attention:

Axani is looking for someone who really wants to go. In fact, an appreciation for the trip is in his short list of qualifications:

1. Be sane, smart and (hopefully) interesting.

2. Have always wanted to travel, but maybe haven't had the opportunity or cash to see much of the world.

3. Be named Elizabeth Gallagher and have a Canadian passport.

4. Be ready for a rather spontaneous life experience that will, one day, be an epic story that you'll tell your kids.

5. Pay it forward. I've been lucky in life and this is me giving back to the universe. Do something similar someday.

So what are the stops along this once-in-a-lifetime trip? Axani laid out the itinerary in his reddit post, too:

December 21: NYC --> Milan

December 28: Prague --> Paris

December 29: Paris --> Bangkok

January 7: Bangkok --> New Dehli

January 8: New Dehli --> Toronto

Though he seems taken aback by the many potential replacements, Axani is taking the attention in stride, even starting an email address to field requests.
