Boy, 5, injured after being hit by mail truck on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A five-year-old boy is recovering from broken bones after a mail truck hit him in the Avalon Park neighborhood.

The accident happened near 83rd and Stony Island at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Legend was rushed to Comer Children's Hospital.

Police say the postal worker was cited after the accident. A USPS spokesperson says the incident is under investigation.
