Police recover gun at West Town Academy; student in custody

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police have taken a student into custody after finding a gun at a school on Chicago's West Side.

West Town Academy was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon as police investigated a report of a person with a gun on the campus in the 500-block of N. Sacramento.

The lockdown was lifted just before 4 p.m. Thursday. No further details have been released.
