Woodridge movie theater to screen 'Willy Wonka' to benefit charity after Gene Wilder death

WOODRIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Hollywood Blvd in southwest suburban Woodridge will be showing ''Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'' to honor Gene Wilder.

Proceeds from the Monday noon showing will be donated to The Alzheimer's Association - Greater Illinois Chapter.

Tickets are $6. Available online or at box office.

A representative from The Alzheimer's Association- Greater Illinois Chapter will be in the lobby for any additional donations or information.

The Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter serves 68 counties in Illinois with offices in Bloomington, Carbondale, Chicago, Joliet, Rockford and Springfield.

The Music Box Theatre in Lakeview will also pay tribute to Wilder with a Pure Imagination: A Gene Wilder Double Feature special September 13.

35mm prints of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and "Blazing Saddles" will screen at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. respectively. There is no charity associated with those showings.
