WINNETKA, Ill. (WLS) -- We've all seen the countless cell phone videos of people dumping icy water over their heads to raise money for ALS.

But when Clark Gapen, 23, was nominated for the ALS ice bucket challenge, the budding filmmaker from Winnetka said he wanted to do something "a little more elaborate" to help raise awareness of the deadly disease.

In a nod to fellow Chicago filmmaker John Hughes, Gapen filmed a scene in front of the famous "Home Alone" house - which just happens to be down the street.

Gapen says two friends helped him to develop the idea, shoot and edit the film, but they were still able to complete it within the 24-hour deadline.

He says he hopes the video will inspire others to complete the challenge, and urges viewers to give to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org.
