Woman struck by falling debris in downtown Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A piece of metal fell from a downtown Chicago building Thursday and struck a woman as she was walking by.

The woman was walking down Michigan Avenue near Madison just before 1 p.m.

Witnesses said the piece of metal hit the woman on her back.

She was taken to the hospital.

No other details are known at this time.
