Man tried to lure girl, 14, into vehicle at Woodridge bus stop

WOODRIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man approached a 14-year-old girl at a Downers Grove North High School bus stop in Woodridge and tried to get her into his vehicle, police said.

The man tried to get her into his run-down four-door sedan around 4 p.m. Monday at the corner of Audubon Avenue and Janeswood Drive in the southwest suburb.

The girl was able to run away and tell authorities what happened to her.

Police said the victim describe the offender as a man in his late 30s or early 40s with a pale complexion and a bald or shaved head. He was wearing a red short-sleeve t-shirt and a black baseball hat worn backward.

The vehicle was an older model, possibly a Honda, with tinted rear windows and rust. The victim told police the license plate may have contained the number "9."

Woodridge police said there have been no reports of similar incidents in the area. Officers are investigating.
