Thieves steal from Cook County State's Attorney's Office in courthouse
Thieves targeted the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in the Leighton Criminal Court Building on Tuesday in Chicago, authorities said.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thieves targeted the Cook County State's Attorney's Office on Tuesday, authorities said.

A spokesperson confirmed some items were taken from the office inside the Leighton Criminal Court Building in Chicago.

Several computers were stolen from the administrative offices, according to the spokesperson.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.

The spokesperson issued the following statement:

On Tuesday, the State's Attorney's Office officials contacted Sheriff's Police to report that several computers were missing from their administrative offices. Sheriff's Police opened an investigation, which is ongoing.

No further information about the theft was immediately available.
