Elgin construction supply store damaged by fire, no injuries reported

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A fire destroyed part of a construction supply store in west suburban Elgin Tuesday afternoon.

Chopper 7 was over the scene around 2:30 p.m. as firefighters worked to put out the flames at 1050 St. Charles Street.

Some flames could be seen inside two side-by-side structures at what appeared to be a property owned by Welch Brothers Construction Supply.

The fire also sent billows of smoke into the air.

There have been no reports of any injuries.
