CHICAGO (WLS) -- Community members, elected officials and the Chicago Park District have recommended naming the 31st Street Beach to honor Chicago artist and organizer Margaret Burroughs.

Burroughs co-founded the DuSable Museum of African-American history and the South Side Community Art Center. She died nearly five years ago.

The Park District Board is expected to unanimously approve the designation at its next meeting.
