Before his time in California, Ferris worked in the ABC News Washington, D.C. bureau, where he covered Congress, the Biden administration and D.C. federal court. His reporting included extensive coverage of Congressman George Santos and Kevin McCarthy's tenure as House speaker.
Ferris holds a degree in broadcast journalism from American University and is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
A native of central Maine, Gabe is excited to call Chicago home and begin his next chapter in the Midwest. When he is not chasing a story, he enjoys cycling, traveling and everything to do with aviation.
