4 hurt, including 2 Chicago firefighters, in NW Side blaze

CHICAGO -- Two Chicago firefighters and two other people were hurt, and several pets were rescued in a fire Wednesday morning in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Crews responded to a still-and-box alarm at a four-unit apartment building in the 3300 block of West Berteau at 10:35 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

A firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to Fire Media. Another firefighter also suffered a minor injury.

Two residents were injured, but appeared to be in good condition at the scene, according to Fire Media.

Several dogs and cats were rescued from the blaze, according to Fire Media.

The fire was under control as of 10:50 a.m.
