CHICAGO (WLS) -- Luis Hernandez, 19, and Juan Barraza, 21, were sentenced to 65 and 50 years, respectively, in the murder of Aliyah Shell. The 6-year-old girl was sitting in her mother's lap on the porch of their Little Village home when she was shot to death in 2012.
Hernandez and Barraza, members of the Latin King gang, drove up in a stolen gray pickup truck, shouted gang slogans and opened fire on the home where a rival Two-Six gang member lived. The only one struck by a bullet was Aliyah.
Aliyah and her mother were waiting for a ride to a birthday party when she was killed in 2012.
