Antioch woman charged in domestic dispute shooting

ANTIOCH TOWNSHIP, Ill. (WLS) -- An Antioch woman was arrested and charged with several counts of battery following a domestic dispute-related shooting, the Lake County Sheriff's Office says.

Vickie V. Orsini-Harvey, 54, is charged with felony counts of aggravated battery of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police say during an argument on April 16 around 12:30 a.m., Orsini-Harvey first struck the victim with a metal pipe and then retrieved a handgun and fired twice. According to the police the first shot only damaged property and the second shot hit the victim in the hand. The victim then called 911.

Orsini-Harvey is being held in the Lake County jail on $500,000. She is due in court on May 10.
