18 states sue Abbott Laboratories
NORTH CHICAGO They claim Abbott and a French drug maker blocked generic competition for a popular cholesterol medication called Tricor.
A spokesperson for Abbott said the company's actions are lawful and that Abbott has not prevented other products from being sold.
The company says there are eight generic versions of the drug on the market.
