Kay Bee Toys gift cards no longer accepted in Ill.

Cards in some states expire Sunday

January 8, 2009 (CHICAGO) A report Wednesday saying the company will stop accepting gift cards after Sunday was only partially correct. Gift cards in most states, including Illinois, expired January 1, 2009.

Stores in NY, TN, MI, VT, MO, CT, HI, OR and WA will stop accepting KB Toys, Inc. gift cards as of January 12, 2009.

Gift cards purchased at stores cannot be redeemed on the store's Web site.

Kay Bee Toys filed for bankruptcy in December and plans to close all of its stores.
