John Pinette, Comedian

June 17, 2009 John Pinette has been entertaining audiences around the world in a variety of ways for over fifteen years, but its making people laugh that John enjoys most of all. He was named Stand-Up Comedian of the Year by the American Comedy Awards in 1999 and has recieved the Gemini Award nomination for his superb televised performance at The Montreal Comedy Festival in 2000. Born just outside of Boston, John left an accounting career to pursue comedy.

John's first comedy CD "Show Me the Buffet", was an enormous success. His latest DVD project "I'm Starvin!" has also received great reviews.

John has appeared on the Tonight Show, Comedy Central and in Hairspray on Broadway. Played the car-jack victim in the final Seinfeld episode. Has appeared in the movie Duets with Gwyneth, Junior with Arnold and Punisher with Travolta.

Let Freedom Hum - An Evening of Comedy hosted by Martin Short on Thursday, June 18 at 7pm at the Vic

Martin Short, who became a household name after successful runs on SCTV and Saturday Night Live, will perform his own comedy, as well as introduce an outstanding slate of comedians including John Pinette, Kathleen Madigan, Greg Giraldo, Tom Papa, and Jeremy Hotz.

Canadian comedian Peters, whose rise to fame has been unprecedented, will welcome a pair of extremely popular comedians to the stage for this special showcase: John Pinette and Maz Jobrani.
