Police say a 17-year-old victim suffered a puncture wound to the chest and was hit in the head and arm with a weightlifter's pipe. The victim required stitches. Brass knuckles with spikes were also used in the attack, authorities said. The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Police charged 17-year-old Mowfaq Alshoweat , 9400-block of South Lawndale in Oak Lawn, with felony aggravated battery and mob action. Marwan Matari, 17, of the 5900-block of West 89th St. in Oak Lawn, was charged with misdemeanor battery and mob action. Hussein Alalfi, 17, of the 9800-block of South Harlem in Chicago Ridge, was charged with misdemeanor mob action. Anas Hamayel, 18, was charged with misdemeanor mob action. Amer Aliyan, 17, of the 9200-block of Willow Lane in Bridgeview, was charged with misdemeanor mob action. Oak Lawn police also charged three juveniles with misdemeanor mob action. Police all of the charged are Oak Lawn High School students.
