The company says it "vigorously disagrees" with the FDA over allegations the products are not safe and were unlawfully marketed. It says it has conducting the recall because of its desire to cooperate with the FDA.

This comes after 130 consumers reported losing their sense of smell after using Zicam.
Matrixx Initiatives says it's in the process of notifying distributors of its recall of all Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel and Zicam Cold Remedy gel swabs.
