GM keeps pace with demand for sports car

June 29, 2009 GM sold more than 5400 Camaros in May. That's the first month they were available.

Since then, GM says its current production schedule has not been able to keep up with demand forcing many buyers to wait to get the sports car which is featured in the new Transformers movie.

The troubled automaker says it doesn't want to overproduce the Camaro and have them sitting on dealer lots.

The auto Web site Edmunds.com says right now. Some buyers are paying above sticker price so they can avoid the wait.
