Police say the stabbing happened early Sunday, but did not immediately release details of that attack. No other injuries were reported from the fire.
Police investigate house fire night after stabbing
July 6, 2009 (SOUTH BEND, Ind.) Police say emergency workers found both homes near the city's downtown fully engulfed in fire when they arrived about 1:30 a.m. Monday. The elderly woman was trapped inside and rescued by firefighters. She was taken to the burn unit of a Fort Wayne hospital.
