Venetian Night: Hollywood sails Chicago's shoreline

July 23, 2009 Hollywood on the Lake is the theme for the 52nd annual- and Chicago's longest running - event.

Boats will be decorated with lights and movie props as they set sail across the shoreline from Roosevelt Road to Monroe Street.

About 750,000 people attended the 2008 event.

Venetian Night events:

At 6:00 p.m. Motocross superstar Ronnie Renner will go sky-high in an attempt to break his own Guinness World Record for the highest air ever attained on a motorcycle. He will attempt to beat his previous record of 59 feet, 2 inches.

8:00 p.m. - Chicago Fire Department's Air/Sea Rescue Re-enactment.

8:15 p.m. - Boat Parade (parade starts at the Shedd Aquarium and ends at the Chicago Yacht Club).

9:00 p.m. - Fireworks display synchronized to an array of classic theme music from your favorite movies.

Red Bull High Rise on Butler Field
