Governor Quinn stressed that the situation is a very serious matter, but did not say what he would do if the trustees do not quit.
Quinn urges U of I trustees to reflect
August 11, 2009 The governor said the trustees should have a few days to reflect on his call for their resignations.
On Friday, Quinn told them to voluntarily resign after a state panel recommended all the trustees leave amid allegations that some pushed to get less qualified students admitted to the school. Only three trustees have resigned and six remain.
