Rick Bayless named 'Top Chef Masters'

August 20, 2009 (CHICAGO) Rick Bayless has been named Top Chef Masters on a Bravo TV contest.

The chef of Chicago restaurants Frontera Grill and Topolobompo beat out 23 other prominent chefs to take the top prize.

Bayless won $100,000 for his Frontera Farmer Foundation. It provides grants for sustainable local farming in the Chicago area.

Well-known Chicago chef Art Smith was also in the competition.
