The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says it may restrict small recreational boats from the channel while its researchers look for signs of the destructive fish. They will use nets and electric shock to try and find Asian carp.
There is concern the fish will soon make its way to the Great Lakes and cause problems for the commercial and recreational fishing industries.
