Police have charged Joel Ballard and April Bainter, both 18 and of the 900-block of W. 32nd Place, with aggravated battery and child endangerment.
Their baby, 3-month-old Joel Bainter, was rushed to the Mercy Hospital Wednesday with broken ribs and a fractured skull. He died the following day at Children's Memorial Hospital.
An autopsy determined he died from abuse.
