Last Friday, Washington-based graphic artist John Harper tweeted, "Put 'Liz Lemon,' in front of Kanye's tweets and he becomes Tracy Jordan," giving the example of, "'Liz Lemon, I wonder what happened to my antique aquarium.'"
Kanye has a huge Twitter following. Last week his thoughts on women's lipstick lead to "lipstick" being a trending topic. His tweets are all over the place and can manage to be relatable while speaking to his unobtainable level of fame and wealth, like picking up bathroom décor tips from the restroom in Yves Saint Laurent.
Tracy Jordan is a character on the hit comedy 30 Rock. The show is based around a fictional Saturday Night Live-esque comedy show with Tracy Jordan, played by Tracy Morgan, as the shows somewhat washed up, delusionally wealthy star.
Since Harper's tweet, the concept has taken off. Humor website FunnyOrDie picked up on Harper's idea and ran with it, helping spread its popularity. The hastag #kanyeistracyjordan has emerged and someone even established the fake Twitter account @kanyejordan specifically for the purpose of putting Kanye's tweets into Tracy's voice.
