The U.S. Department of Education is investigating allegations of a sexual assault involving a football player at Notre Dame. On Thursday, Indiana officials said they would not file charges against the player, in part because his accuser, Lizzy Seeberg, 19, committed suicide.

Seeberg was a freshman at nearby Saint Mary's College.

She committed suicide a week after she accused the football player of attacking her.

Notre Dame officials say they are working with investigators, but did not comment specifically on this case.
