Voter registration up in every Chicago ward

Every ward in Chicago has shown a jump in the number of registered voters.

But some places seem more interested in the race for mayor than others.

The Sun-Times reports that wards in which African Americans are the biggest voting bloc had the largest increase in registered voters.

Latino wards saw the smallest increase.

The report suggests one reason for the bigger registration in black wards could be because there were initially two other well-known black candidates in the race. And all of them encouraged their supporters to register.
