Nunu Sung, 26, is a refugee from Myanmar. She is serving a three-year prison sentence for lying to police about what happened during the birth of her child two years ago.
Sung had hoped to have a supervised court visit with the child Tuesday, but a foster couple raising the boy decided against it. The couple is hoping to gain permanent custody of the boy.
Last month, Sung told The Chicago Tribune that she would never harm the child and she believes she is worthy of a second chance.
