DePaul drops SAT, ACT as requisites for freshmen

DePaul University is the latest college to drop the need for ACT or SAT test scores on freshman applications.

New students can still include standardized test results, and admission officials expect most to do so.

DePaul says its mission is to have a diverse student population. That includes many who are the first in their families to pursue a college degree.

Those who don't submit test results are asked to answer four supplemental essay questions about goal setting, community involvement and personal challenges.
