- Ingredients:
- 6 large broccoli stems
- 2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 tsp. white sesame seeds
- 1 tsp. black sesame seeds
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 tsp. chili flakes
I LOVE this recipe because so many people think the only part of broccoli worth cooking is the florets. SO NOT TRUE! This is a great recipe to use the stems you cut off of broccoli heads the night before.
Slice the broccoli stems into long, thin pieces, about 8" long and ½" thick. For a stem about 1" in diameter, you should get three pieces. Toss the stems in the sesame oil and season with salt and chili flakes. Grill on a hot grill until tender -- about 5 minutes. While grilling, toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan. Sprinkle the stems with sesame seeds before serving.
