After her appearance before a judge Wednesday, Lydia Price left the Maywood Courthouse without speaking to reporters. She was released from custody Tuesday.
Price's son, 14-year-old Matthew Degner, was found dead last week at their Berwyn home. He died of pneumonia. Their home was overrun with about 200 animals.
Prosecutors are also asking a judge for a grand jury indictment.
A judge could decide on the requests at a hearing next month.
