The Chicago Tribune reports 41-year-old Steven Feagin is being held in the county jail in Champaign. He is accused of raping three women between 1993 and 1995.
Illinois authorities have been waiting their turn to prosecute Feagin since he was also charged in a Florida rape case. But Broward County authorities recently dropped the charges.
DNA in the Florida case helped lead detectives to Feagin as a suspect in the three cases in Illinois.
