Police say the woman saw her former boyfriend's car and tried to run to safety.
The man reportedly pursued her in his car. Then he allegedly opened fire, striking the woman several times.
Police say there was another incident Monday when the man shot the victim's current boyfriend. Now, they're looking for 34-year-old Roosevelt Gills of Chicago.
Police are not releasing the woman's name. She was critically injured.
Police say Gills came to the victim's home Monday and locked himself in a bedroom in a dispute over their child. Police say when the woman's 32-year-old current boyfriend tried to get the ex-boyfriend out of the bedroom, he was shot in the arm.
