Autumn Caldwell, 10, will be the parade's queen. Caldwell is a student at Chicago's Kate Starr Kellogg Elementary.
Dakota James, 10, was named king. He attends Muhammad University of Islam in the city's South Shore area.
The 83rd Bud Billiken Parade takes place Saturday. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for African Americans through educational, cultural and social programs, according to the parade's website.
