That date: December 18, 2015. It is the first in the series to be made by the Walt Disney Company since it bought Lucasfilm last year.
It's being directed by J.J. Abrams, who also directed "Mission Impossible" and the new "Star Trek" films. Shooting is scheduled to begin next spring.
And there is an open casting call in Chicago for two young actors. It's taking place at the Park West, next Thursday, November 14.
