Officer Baldo "Al" Bello claims that when he complained, he was reassigned to desk duty.
Bello joined the Skokie Police Department in January 2006 after serving two tours of duty, including a tour in Iraq.
The Skokie Police Department had no comment.
The Village of Skokie - also named in the lawsuit - says it is confident their military leave policy is in full compliance of State and Federal laws.
