This Tuesday would have marked Mayor Harold Washington's 92nd birthday.
Washington was the first African American mayor in Chicago.
"Harold was our superstar, he was our superstar politician and as matter of fact he used to say we must prompt the whole community," said Robert Plump, Harold Washington Foundation.
This Tuesday's celebration includes a parade down Martin Luther King Drive with a stops at Oak Woods Cemetery where Washington is buried.
Everyone is invited to walk down the parade route.
