Extreme heat in Arizona cooks egg on street
Record-breaking heat in Arizona cooked an egg on the street.

With excessive heat warnings issued through the Southwest U.S. this week, many people in Arizona have shared the effects of the heat wave on social media.



Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson and Yuma set daily temperature records on Sunday, with Yuma reaching 120 degrees.



Chad Halmrast shared a video on YouTube of an egg cooking on top of a manhole cover in Gilbert on Sunday. The egg took about 10 minutes to cook on top of the manhole cover that was 162.5 degrees on the surface.



Ashley Athey shared crayons melting in Tucson, while Amanda Asselin baked cookies inside her car near Peoria this week.
