5 people robbed at Congress Plaza Hotel in Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two armed men robbed five people early Saturday at the Congress Plaza Hotel in the South Loop, police said.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. at the hotel at 520 S. Michigan Ave.

The victims told police that two black men followed a man to his room and then forced their way in.

The offenders robbed three men and two women of their cash, wallets and cellphones, police said.

The offenders scuffled with hotel security in the lobby, but got away, police said.
