Police arrest mother, 2 others after finding child in filthy Portage home

PORTAGE, Ind. (WLS) -- Indiana police say they found a 3-year-old girl living in filthy conditions. Officers made the discovery after being called out to a mobile home in Portage.

The girl's mother, Ashley Neiswinger, and two acquaintances were arrested.

Officers say they found dirty diapers and bugs crawling on the walls.

The home also reportedly smelled like marijuana.

The girl has been released to her father.
