Man, 29, charged in sexual assault of teen girl

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

Marco Geronimo-Ocampo was arrested Sunday in the 500 block of North State Street in River North, and charged with one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of kidnapping, police announced Sunday.

Police suspect this man, captured on surveillance video, assaulted a 14-year-old girl on the 2800-block of West Division late Saturday night.

According to an alert issued by police shortly after the incident, the girl was walking westbound in the 2800 block of West Division Street about 12:15 a.m. Saturday when she was approached by a man. He allegedly tried to talk to her and when she refused, grabbed her and took her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her.

Geronimo-Ocampo is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
