CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are searching for a man who tried to pull a 16-year-old girl into a van Wednesday afternoon in the Ashburn neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side.
Police said the girl was walking about 3:15 p.m. in the 7900-block of South Lawndale when someone started following her. She was later approached by a black male, who then tried to pull her into a cream-colored GMC Savana, police said. She was able to escape and the suspect ran away.
He was described as a black male, standing between 5-feet-11 and 6-feet, with brown eyes, dark brown short hair that is balding on top, facial hair with a dark complexion and a scar on his right temple, police said. The suspect was wearing a green short sleeve polo, light blue jeans, dirty white gym shoes and red stone earring.
