Man hospitalized after shooting in Aurora

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- A man is hospitalized after a shooting in suburban Aurora, police said.

Police responded to reports of shots fired near Rathbone and Elmwood around 12:05 p.m. Saturday and found the man lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

Officials say a vehicle was heard leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the shots were fired, but no other details have been released.
