30-year-old man fatally shot while standing on sidewalk in Austin

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 30-year-old man was fatally shot while standing on a sidewalk in the city's Austin neighborhood, police said.

The victim was standing in the 200-block of South Lotus around 11:10 a.m. Monday when an unknown offender opened fire, police said. The man sustained gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

Police are continuing to investigate.
