DUI charges pending in Bishop Ford crash

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- A fiery crash on Bishop Ford freeway turned into a crime scene, shutting down the expressway for more than four hours.

State police said a black Lexus rear-ended an SUV overnight Wednesday at Sibley Boulevard and I-94. The driver of the SUV was thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries and burns, police said.

The driver of Lexus is in custody and DUI charges are pending.
