CHICAGO (WLS) -- Rideshare company Uber has rolled out a new service, uberSELECT, for customers in Chicago.
The company says uberSELECT will offer rides to customers in higher-end vehicles at a cost "comparable" to taking a taxi.
In its press release, Uber says an average uberSELECT fare from River North to the West Loop would be about double that of an uberX fare. These figures, however, do not specify how fares will be under the company's "surge" pricing, which goes into effect during high-demand times.
