A man from Illinois is helping memory care patients with his baking skills.
Sheldon Flowers has been baking ever since he can remember. His love for baking was passed down from his grandmother, the woman he learned all he needed to know when it comes to baking.
Flowers works with Peace Hospice and Palliative Care, he's been working in the health care industry for over 20 years. He's used his experience and his love for baking as a way to help memory care patients relax and ease their minds while having fun.
"It brings joy to my heart. It feels like I've done something special that I can give back and they truly appreciate it," said Flowers.
Flowers and his boss Christine Taylor hold events every so often at different facilities to give memory care patients opportunities to safely interact with others while reminiscing as they decorate cupcakes.
